1 week Norwegian Fjords Cruise on P&O Iona (Part 1)

It’s here! My feature length vlog of our 1 week cruise onboard P&O Iona as we sailed the Norwegian Fjords on a roundtrip from Southampton UK. This is part 1 of 2 so much sure you look out for the second part in a couple weeks – subscribing and turning on notifications will help and by giving this video a cheeky little like you show your support which I appreciate very much. In this vlog I show you the embarkation process, lots of tips on how to make the most of a P^O cruise, from the app to booking restaurants, reducing wait times and making smart decisions about your excursions. We experience a sea day on the North Sea, the ports of Stavanger and Olden with some incredible tours to see mountain goats, waterfalls and even to the top of a snow capped mountain via one of the steepest cable cars in the world. And that’s just the beginning! I hope you enjoy and get a sense of what cruising the Fjords is like through this vlog. Oh, and stay tuned until the end for some bloopers!

  1. This is by far my most favourite of all your vlogs 🎉 as usual very informative and funny, we love the fjords and you have given us some great ideas for trips next time… keep up the great work 😊

  2. Another great Vlog Jamie. Great views from the Skylift in Leon. I said to Pete that we have to do that next time we visit Norway 🇳🇴 – looking forward to part 2 – keep up the great work 👍🏻

  3. So love the Fjords, did my first cruise to Norway on Britannia as a treat for my Dad after he’d had a stroke. We are going again in July but this time on Queen Victoria in Princess Grills, beyond excited!!! Inside cabins are excellent value for money, especially if scenic cruising is not a major element of the itinerary but I’m not sure if it’s the best choice for a Fjords cruise, as it’s so special to sit on your balcony with a morning cuppa during sail in or sail by. I’m curious Jamie, do you not have status for priority boarding with P&O, given how frequently you cruise with them? I love being on board for lunch on the first day. Looking forward to part 2, and also learning where you’ll be off to next. Thank You Jamie❤

  4. Great video Jamie as always. We really enjoyed meeting you on this cruise. We had an amazing first time on Iona and to Norway and would love to return. We would recommend it. Your videos are great to watch and we are big fans. I see we made an appearance in the video! Keep up the good work.

  5. Loved this blog. Me loving heights I would definitely do the skylift. But how could Matthew be so cruel and book an inside cabin with views like that to wake upto. Would definitely have to have a cabin with a window or balcony to enjoy and appreciate the views from.

  6. Jamie I’ve watched your videos for a while could you please make a video on or explain here how to use your your mobile data on onboard as it’s quite vague to what the charges are

  7. Good on ya for catching the sunset!!! I’ve ducked under the closed deck before!!! Only a bit of water 🙂 Iona is SO stable it’s amazing even in rough seas… Love Sindu !!!

  8. Brilliant vlog, we always stay in an inside cabin, it's always so quiet and peaceful to sleep in. We spend so much time enjoying the ship and ports, that apart from sleeping, showering, changing etc. we can use the money saved toward another cruise. Keep up the great work Jamie Xx

  9. Thank you for this, another wonderful video! We're looking at doing this cruise next May but there is absolutely no way a thousand horses could drag me onto that cable car. I don't need to go, your video was enough to scare the bejesus out of me! I'll stick to water level thankyou! 😂

  10. What a fantastic vlog. What we like about your vlogs is that they have humour, but most of all, you're very informative.
The views on that sky lift were out of this world.
12 days and counting for our trip to Norway and Iceland, done Norway last November to Alta, and that was something else just to experience the northern lights, so this time the polar opposite.
I follow a few cruise vloggers, but for being informative, you are way the best.
Thanks for the hotel information again. Cheers.

  11. Amazing as usual. Thank you for showing the Skylift. I was a bit anxious about going up in the cable cars but you’ve shown me it’s ok! Looking forward to part 2.

  12. Loved it Jamie. We did it two weeks before you. Still beautiful but not as good weather as you. The waterfalls were not in full flow because the snow was still frozen higher up. I'm looking forward to part 2 😊

  13. Hi Jamie, absolutely loved the video, you really did crack me up in parts, I do have a question about your Olden on the skylift, did you book this on line.

  14. Such a beautiful ship the Iona, in such a beautiful setting too, we are going in spring ‘25 and can’t wait. I’m sure it’s been mentioned in other comments but #peewithmaffoo definitely happened! I (Pete) chuckled when you said you don’t do formal, which is exactly my stance too, but we get it done nonetheless! Great vlog Jamie 😊

  15. Great vlog as always Jamie, Love you and Mafoo. Your excursion to Lysfjord was so much like the P & O, just so much cheaper. When I went last June, the baby goat was small. They're so cute running down. The waterfall had a lot of water, but it had rained a lot. I did the Sky lift was well, absolutely phenomenal. Just booked Britannia for next May to the Fjords. Did you watch the locals sailing away from Olden? When's part 2?
