On Friday August 14, 2020 unknown to me would I be making the biggest mistake ever. Looking forward to a get away for mine and my husband’s birthday I booked a 4 night getaway to St Thomas through Travelocity. I booked a package deal with airfare and hotel staying at the Two Sandals by the Sea Inn B&B. On Saturday while eagerly looking forward to our trip i looked to see what the temperatures would be like during our stay and much to my surprise I discovered the US Virgin Islands had in fact be shut down due to COVID. I immediately reached out to the B&B and they quickly advised she that was in fact the case. I was told I would have to contact Travelocity directly and needed to advise them to check out usviupdate.com to get my money refunded. I’ve seen been on the phone with Travelocity for 3 days and still no refund as they state they need to speak to someone at the hotel to verify the hotel has been shut down due to COVID, hello it’s not just this hotel it’s the whole island. When you go to the website the hotel directed me to it states, “That as of Thursday August 13, 2020, accommodations providers have been ordered not to accept or book any new reservations for 30 days.” However, my reservation is non refundable. My husband and I have now lost $1,354.52 due to Travelocity making our reservation during a time period that the island was not allowed to accept any new bookings. If you’re planning on booking with Travelocity I really hope that you save yourself the heartache and don’t. Absolutely, the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
That push-up bra is putting the team on its back
