It's not that deep. I'm a GameStop employee and I will be running a midnight, this guy is just a little misinformed. We are selling copies at midnight to people that do and do not have a preorder. The direction from the company has been atrocious, its been hard to keep up with. Feel for us man, it's been hard at GameStop/all retail! I always try for my customers to help them out and knowing everything about everything is impossible nowadays.

It makes sense because GameStop is technically closed at 7 or 8pm , but if you have a pre order you're able to enter into a technically closed facility for a pre sale release
Bro, it is not Nintendo NY where you can show up at midnight and buy the game without pre-order. This is GameStop. They work differently. So if they tell you you gotta preoder it, then preorder it.

Dude idk whats your problem, but this totally makes sense to most people except maybe you. Midnight releases have been a thing for years, and its only for those that have preordered the game. The actual sales to the public go live on Friday during their normal hours of operation. That is the release date of the game, and according to the guy there will be enough quantities so you can grab one. Also, your explanation makes zero sense because there's a bonus attached to these releases till quantities of those are sold.
Because GameStop closes at a certain time . If you pre order you get the access to a midnight release. It’s the privilege of pre ordering. It completely makes sense and is even GameStop doing gamers a solid one. Even giving you items for pre ordering.
To me it makes sense since GameStop closes earlier than midnight. Also I like my local GameStop but I get what you’re saying about pre orders in general.
It does make sense, they can't accept money after midnight because their til won't accept it. The system won't count it. I believe 9 or 10pm is the complete cut off line for the system. My good friend used to run gamestop for a long time back from 2006 to 2013. Was always good times at his midnight releases.
First video I’ve ever seen if your channel and was disappointed you complained about a practice that has been in use for years might as well complain about the government and you would be making the same video if he said no we don’t have enough your mad that you can buy a vip access to the game at GameStop just buy it on the Nintendo store like the rest of to play it and just order it or go in and get it for the thumb nail use

I pre-ordered the game and it's supposed to be delivered today. It's not in my orders anymore and it hasn't been delivered. I searched the tracking number and the order doesn't exist…
As someone who works at GameStop and worked the midnight release they make us shut down the registers at close time for are stores that’s why anyone who wanted to pick up there game who had a pre order had to come before close time to finalize there order the finalized receipt is one saying you picked it up that’s how we keep track in are inventory and how we are able to do the midnight release we check everyone’s receipts to make shore it sais pickup on it and we sign across the receipt so that we know they picked it up if they came after close we wouldn’t be able to sell anything because the registers would be closed but we are definitely happy to sell it the next day on the release of the game we just have no way to sell after close time sens the registers are closed at least that’s how it is in are distric this one is my last midnight release as I’m going onto another job in two weeks but I’m glad it was Zelda I hope this helped
In my opinion a Game Stop midnight release for a specific game is the REWARD for those who made the COMMITMENT towards the preorder of that specific game.
The real preorder scam is they don't have enough of the Preorder bonus items to give to everyone that pre-ordered the game.
