  1. The main reason people hate them is because they’re blatant ripoffs of Snap On’s designs which is just lazy. It’s also pathetic and sleazy. Another reason is there’s no open stock so if you lose a socket you’re out of luck unless you want to buy another whole set. Amateur hour.

  2. yes keep the yearly Updates coming ! most especially because you are a Professional and it Pisses Off the ToolTruck Snobs ! my Dad liked playing with C 4 Convertibles in his late years ? he bought them cheap and liked wrenching on them ? FYI he lived inSouth Florida and he had a couple of Shady Freinds that always seemed to have parts available cheap for Cash prices so one day my old man asked me if i knew a Snap On guy and if i could pick him up a SparkPlug Socket 3/8” Drive so i said sure and Yes to both questions. my local SnapOn guy was someone i worked with many years prior in the Woodworking Industry and I occasionally ran into him at a freinds Garage / Hot Rod Shop that was close to my home so on my way home i ran by the Garage hoping to catch the SnapOn truck i missed him that day and the Mechanic asked me what i wanted he laughed and went to his Box and threw me his he didn’t know the price he paid but told me to mail my Dad that one and he would check the price the next day he only used the tool one time so it was immaculate and looked brand new which i did send my Dad so he would have it faster my Dad was going to pay for the tool anyway and in a few days my buddy the Mechanic told me he had the price of the Socket and it was $35 or 6 dollars for one damn Socket that said SnapOn Made InChina and i knew for a fact it was the same Factory that made Stanley Sockets sold inWalmart because i used to bust the SnapOn RepsBalls about that because i bought a small 1/4 “ drive set for my Woodworking Toolbox that i used very little to repair a Power Tool or something rare the truth was i bought the set for $19.99 and because it was in aCompact case that fit in a small drawer in my Tool Chest but for 20 bucks the thing was nice quality

  3. I bought a 3/8 flex head long ratchet and boy do I say I use it ALOT I thought I wouldnt use it that much when I bought it but I was soo wrong I gotta get more of them they are just amazing

  4. You're the reason my sons shop building? All green us general, right when he got out of Marines. His rogue fitness rack, cable machine, all green. He has a shipping container office that he modded that he uses as a vault/smiting area, he just got icon stuff in green for in there. But again, your tool boxes video when you first got these is what made him go green/black for his stuff hahaha.

  5. Man I don’t want to hate on icon but I have a half inch short chrome set and within the first month I had to warranty two sockets and I have a set of extensions one I had to warranty that first month and another I had to warranty about 3 months in, and since then I haven’t bought anymore tools from harbor freight just consumables. I’d rather buy used matco or snap on stuff 🤷🏼‍♂️ I don’t wanna hate but I’ve personally had awful luck with icon my Milwaukee sockets are better

  6. Crows feet wrenches come clutch when you torque to spec every single bolt/nut. Will make reaching anywhere a socket wont fit or you need an extension for full swing.

  7. The only thing bad I can say about the icon or other Harbor Freight Tools is if I was to lose a socket I cannot buy an individual socket to replace it

  8. I really like the Bauer stuff. I wish they had more tools on the powerline. I want a cordless ratchet. I have the grinder and both 3/8 and 1/2 impacts. Drill and impact driver as well.

  9. Yeah tool snobs be drinkin that Haterade. Frankly that doesn't interest me. These days I'm just happy to see people turning wrenches…..ANY wrenches. BTW I have had good experience with ICON and some of the Quinn stuff is really good too

  10. I’ve been a professional service tech in my field for years. And I have pretty much every brand you can come across for tools except Cornwell and Matco. I do see a noticeable difference between my icon tools and snap on tools mainly in things like the ratchets. However I have the icon dead blow mallets and love them. A lot of the other techs give me shit but why spend $100 plus on a hammer that I was able to get a few between $25-$40 that get the job done and have been holding up.

  11. Hey Justin, glad it’s working out for you. If i was you I would consider some 3D printer battery hangers off the wall. I built one that I can take all 20+ battery’s straight to the job site. Just food for thought as you look pretty organized. Keep on keeping on!!

  12. My brother bought an $18,000 roller cab when he could have had that, 2 end cabinets And a top chest for less than half. He regrets his purchase 🤣🤣

  13. If only , just only if icon would have the availability of single sockets and wrenches so if you lose one you can go to the store and buy a single wrench or socket instead of another set!

That or for warranty so they’re not tearing about a completely set for one warranty claim

  14. Harbor freight tools, icon and the other brands they sale, allowed me to open my business 6 years ago with out going into any debt at all. As a mobile Cng tech I don’t see any tool trucks so it’s nice to have a harbor freight store in almost every city to go get something or exchange a tool which isn’t often and 99.9 percent of the exchanges I’ve done are for 7/32 Allen key sockets.I use them every day on an impact and break one about every 2 months. Just wish they made a wrench roll for their icon wrenches

  15. Just bought the Icon screwdriver set and pliers and I was comparing them to my co workers snap on
And all though it's got an imitation on appearance the feel quality wasn't as good as the snap on screwdrivers they had a better handle and felt more comfortable as the Icon ones felt stiff and the Icon pliers also felt stiff with the handles and the snap on handle padding felt nice and comfortable the only issue I have Is the feel quality other than that they work good

  16. Tools are made to make you money. Not cost you money. I’ve always been against the philosophy of having to have the highest brand for the sake of that brand. A chrome socket is a chrome socket. Used on a ratchet I still use my mastercraft set with ZERO issues. A ton of these company’s have life time warranty as well. So if you have an icon ratchet that breaks every 2 years at worst or even once a year at very very worse and get free replacements what’s the point?!?!?!? That tool now lasts a lifetime! Buy tools to make you money. Best advice I ever followed. Always said if there was a tool that proved that high money needed to be spent I would make that decision then and upgrade. I have almost never truly come to needing to do that

  17. If I'm using tools to make my living, my customers ultimately buy them. I'm getting tired of exchanging the racheting wrenches. I do buy my share at HF….

  18. buy what makes you happy. one thing i will say is you can not replace one wrench or socket if you lose it. they need to figure that out so people can buy single tools. thanks for sharing

  19. The ICON line up is just another rebranded Taiwanese tool in a big field of players; Capri, Tekton, Carlyle, Gearwrench and even some of the lesser lines on the Trucks. It's probably on par with Blue-Point (Snap-On's off-shore brand) but it's not Snap-On quality. If you have a HFT close by it might be the best option for you, but TEKTON has fantastic customer service, good prices and are a solid company (some may say HFT is questionable especially how they treat their workforce).

  20. When you said to use tools as intended, you hit a cord! I was in a fb group a few years ago, and someone was complaining about some Craftsman screwdrivers breaking. The guy claimed he lightly tapped a screwdriver, and it broke clean in half! I have the large set, and bought a small set of the screwdrivers and tested them out https://youtu.be/CpH-62pq3xk It ends up, the guy must have used it as a hammer or a pry bar. He must have used it extremely hard, because I barely scratched mine.

  21. I have a good bit if ICON myself and have never had a problem. They always do what I ask of them and have performed just fine. I usually always hit the sale prices so that has also been an incentive. Good video and finally something positive, jb

  22. Some of the hate comes from people like me. I don't have a lot of snap on due to the price. I do try to get made in USA to help employ your cousin. On quality I have seen snap on get the job done when other sockets were snapping.

  23. Harbor Freight is one of the best stores there is. The Pittsburgh tools are much higher quality than Snap-on and at only a fraction of the cost. And the ICON line is even better (and still way cheaper than Snap-on) for professional mechanics.
