You omit the fact that printers are sold at a loss. Expecting to pay $40 for a printer containing all sorts of modern engineering and there not be a catch is naive. This is not a $20K car.
It's possible to install its old firmware but it takes alot of programming skills it's just like homebrew consoles.
Yup get canon and use a refill kit
They’ve programmed to also burnout or stop working if you use a diff ink cart
The problem is thst you are not söeeping enough and over-thinking
Sounds a lot like SpyWare / RandsomWare… (Invasion of Privacy) #FollowTheMoney
I just picked up an HP laserjet 1320tn from an estate sale for $8. Works perfect after I took it home and put paper in it. According to the self-diag print, the thing was made in 2004, printed 142k pages, and has had 87 jams total. On the print out, it says that a non-HP print cartridge is installed, with a note below stating "A non Hewlett-Packard supply has been installed. HP supports customer choice". Oh how the times have changed..
I stopped buying hp printers after random failures after 9 months or 1.5 years. A personal friend working for hp then told me. That hp uses a counter on a chip which can be random after your warranty expires.
Would then randomly create failures and force customers to buy new printers. I used to buy hp because it seemed a good deal cheap efficient while it was working. But after 6 printers failing on me after 1 year or 1.5 years. I decided to invest in a brother printer cost me 350 dollars even after being on discount. But after 6 years its running strong.
It really safed me a lot of money in the long run. Hp is just a big scam necer again.
This is probably because of eFuses but regardless still stupid and dumb
Use Epson Ecotank Printers
this feels illegal. and should be. period.
HP = Hostage Printer
And this is why I buy Brother (:
Just abuse the service, print like a maniac for 6 month then toss it away. As sad as it sounds thats the only way hp gonna learn, pay alot for this bs..
Just living day to day is becoming a subscription service
Why so much sleaze from these companies
That’s why I have a 15 year old Epson printer. Still spits out print errors but it prints flawlessly.
Same as the stupid software subscription system, just milking you out of your money for the same service as the buy to use version
Is there such a thing as an open source printer?
