  1. I went to the Target next door to my GameStop. Showed up 15 minutes before they opened in the morning. The front doors were being repaired, so they were open. I walked in and just kinda lingered in electronics. At the stroke of nine, forty people came running into the store. They had formed a line outside waiting for nine. The game wasn’t out on the floor yet. It took fifteen minutes for someone to find it out back for us. They were convinced that all copies of the game were but one,get one free. Including the six available collectors editions. The other shoppers let me go up first. I couldn’t resist the temptation of a collectors edition being available, so I changed plans on the fly and asked for a collectors edition. Then I watched in disbelief as he rang up two collectors editions and told me the total was $130. I’m not a total piece of garbage, so I told him his mistake. Turns out the B1G1 thing is referring to the fanny packs that Target was giving out with the game. But he was totally prepared to give all of us two copies. Would have worked out well, since there were three of us who wanted collectors editions. I’d love to have had a spare so that I could open it and check out the book. Instead, it’s all cases up and buried in my closet. I figure when the final game in the open world Zelda trilogy is released, it’ll be time to eBay my mint condition collectors edition. Probably won’t fetch the wild prices that a Master Edition Breath of the Wild commands, but I bet it’ll crest a thousand bucks.

  2. I’ve been to several midnight releases. Sadly, I couldn’t make the midnight release for Tears of the Kingdom, because I had to work the next day (and my shifts start at 6:00 in the morning).

  3. Ever did it, myself. If it was a thing when I was a kid, maybe I’d do it but no way I’m dragging my 40 year old arse, to midnight release of a videogame. I don’t care how good it is.
